What is Bethel Kids?
Bethel Kids is our Sunday School programme at Bethel Community Church led by a team of staff and volunteers who are passionate about teaching children a spiritually and morally benefitting curriculum. Our programme for Bethel Kids is designed to meet the spiritual and developmental needs of children while providing a safe and playful environment.
Our goal is to provide a fun and interactive programme tailored just for kids and help them grow spiritually as they build meaningful relationships with other children and adults.
Who can attend?
Bethel Kids is open and available to any child from within the local community, whether your family has a faith background or not.
Where do you meet?
We meet each Sunday at Aberavon Community Centre, Michna Street, Port Talbot. SA12 6UH. Bethel Kids runs at the same time as the adult service.
What happens at Bethel Kids?
Kids will learn lessons from the Bible presented in a relevant way that addresses “kid issues” and how they are living today. With energetic and fun worship songs, our endeavour is to give your children a fun and inspiring experience at Bethel Kids. Our desire is that they will not only want to come back each week, but that they will want to bring their friends along too!
Who runs Bethel Kids?
Dawn Kilinc is the director of Bethel Kids. Please feel free to chat with Dawn if you have any questions or concerns about your child.
What time does it start?
Bethel Kids starts each Sunday at 11.30am and finishes at 1pm. Following the Kids programme, the children are invited to stay for a free lunch together with the whole church. Please note that parents are also very welcome to join the lunch.
How Do I Check In My Child?
If this is your child’s first time in attending, then please come along at 11.15am to check in your child. Come into the hall and you will be shown to the designated classroom. At the time of check-in, a volunteer leader will greet you. You will be asked to provide us with a phone number for a mobile phone that you have in your possession. This is needed in case of any emergency.
Our Sunday programme is organized into the following structure: Worship music in the main adult service for 20 minutes. Then the children will be taken into their relevant classroom where they will hear a Bible story presented in a fun and interactive way. After that they will be given activities that will reinforce the lesson including a memory verse activity, a fun game and a short prayer time with their leaders. On occasion, a snack or treat may be provided.
Please inform the leader if your child has an allergy. Please do not bring treats or drinks from home as we are a peanut-free environment.
What time is your adult Church service?
The adult service runs the same time as Bethel Kids. So you are most welcome to drop off your kids at Sunday School and join the adult service as your child has theirs. Please stay for the free lunch after the service.
